First Rehearsal 29/01/2018

We originally planned that we would have both our actors this day so they could meet and build on the characters relationship in our drama, however our actress for Red dropped out on Sunday night. We decided to still have the rehearsal with just Eddie. We used this as a one-to-one session so he and the director (Beth) could talk about the character and ask any question he had. We also talked about his availability and found out he isn’t available from the 4th-9th of Feb. This mean we are working on a tighter time frame then originally thought. We think we may have to record Edward and Red separately due to scheduling with our actors, we discussed times he is free this week and worked around his schedule and ours to record his parts. While doing so Beth has been asking drama students that she knows if they are available to do so encase none of the casting calls i sent out i replied to. I booked the studio for 2 recording session this week from 6-9 both days. After this Beth and Eddie went over the script while me and Oli did last minute tech checks then they both went into the studio for us to record the practice, because our actor wasn’t here Beth read for Red we went over the whole drama of how we wanted it too sound and recorded some of the practice takes to listen back too.

Meeting with Zara and Peggy (5.5)

In this meeting we discussed mainly what our sound would be and what we want our audience to feel. Zara suggested we see the film ‘threads’ its about a bleak, post apocalyptic world where society breaks down. She suggested this because of how people speaks in the film and how they lose the power of speech which could be useful for our drama. I also talked to Peggy about finding someone for Red as she had sent me an email about a girl but because she was at school she could only do weekends which didn’t fit with our current actor. She gave me another name which i could email so i did after the meeting. Zara also suggested i resend her the casting call as it sounded too unprofessional.
